For those of you involved in research at National Jewish Health, we have several departments that can ensure you are in compliance with all Federal, State and Institutional regulations and policies. This includes the Institutional Review Board that reviews all experimental and clinical protocols involving human subjects or the use of human derived material. We also uphold the highest standards of HIPAA in everything we do, including our research protocols. Finally if you plan to carry out research involving recombinant DNA or other biohazards, you must seek approval from the Institutional Biosafety Committee who will ensure that the procedures you plan to use are appropriate for the organisms to which you will be exposed. We want to ensure your safety as well as your co-worker's and everyone who works at, or visits, National Jewish Health.
If you are planning to perform any studies that will need approval by any of these departments, you are urged to contact them prior to submitting your protocol so they can provide insight into the preparation of your application.
