Free Expert Literature Search Services For National Jewish Health Employees
Expert searches include thorough searches for your topics at no charge. Our librarians can help you refine your research question, identify key search terms, configure the search strategy for multiple databases, and assist with reference management and workflow solutions. Consider expert search services for:

Consultations for National Jewish Health patients
Our librarians have the time and resources to help patients find answers to their pertinent health questions, and to help them find and recognize reputable sources of information. Contact us to schedule a time for your patient to consult with a librarian, or have them drop by during open hours.
Systematic Review/Practice Guideline Development
Do to the complexity and time commitments of systematic reviews and practice guidelines, we are able to offer our services for these searches on a very limited basis. See our Advanced Search Services information page or contact Liz Kellermeyer.
If an item is unavailable in our library's collection, we can order it through interlibrary loan (ILL). This service is free of cost for NJH employees.

EndNote for beginners
EndNote is a bibliographic management program that lets you keep a database of references. Learn to import, store and manage references and images, format references in different styles, and create bibliographies. Perfect for researchers just getting started with EN or for admin supporting them. -
Advanced EndNote
This workshop that addresses common issues of editing output styles, working with collaborators and fixing tricky formatting. Good for those who have worked with EN for awhile and want to fine tune their skills. -
NCBI Tools
Covers an introduction to My NCBI accounts and the associated tools. A My NCBI account is required to save a list of publications in PubMed (My Bibliography), create a biosketch, and manage peer reviewed article compliance with the NIH Public Access Policy. -
Searching via Ovid MEDLINE or Embase
Learn how to access, basic commands, and searching techniques for searching Ovid MEDLINE or Embase. -
Searching PubMed
Learn to search MEDLINE through the National Library of Medicine's PubMed search engine. This class focuses on author, journal, and subject searches; limiting sets; refining and combining search strategies; and finding full text links to articles.
Our librarians have worked with NJH's FAPPE Committee to develop a standardized citation report that can be turned in with a promotion or review packet. This report contains broad statistics as well as relevant indices to help put publication productivity and impact in context.
