The Occupational & Environmental Medicine (OEM) Residency Program at the Colorado School of Public Health in Denver is an ACGME accredited two-year training program that provides residents with the qualifications to meet the American Board of Preventive Medicine eligibility requirements for Board Certification in Occupational Medicine. The Program Mission is to train outstanding, board-certified physicians with the knowledge, leadership and skills to provide occupational and environmental professional services in a wide variety of settings including academic, governmental, corporate, military and community based organizations.
Established in 1992, our program strengths include its outstanding clinical training particularly in pulmonary medicine and toxicology; epidemiologic and translational research opportunities; and integration with longstanding industrial hygiene, ergonomics, occupational health psychology and health physics programs through the NIOSH-funded Mountain and Plains Educational Research Center (MAP ERC). Our program is rigorous and dynamic, with the additional attraction of being located at the foot of the Rocky Mountains with all of the associated recreational opportunities.
