Accreditation Information
The CME Program at National Jewish Health is managed and executed by The Office of Professional Education.
National Jewish Health has been accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians since its inception in 1984. ACCME accreditation assures physicians and other health care professionals that CME is held to high standards and is designed to be relevant, effective, and independent.
As an accredited provider, National Jewish Health follows the Standards for Integrity and Independence in Accredited Continuing Education, the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA) Code on Interactions with Healthcare Professionals (effective January 1, 2009), and the Advanced Medical Technology Association (“AdvaMed”) Revised Code Of Ethics On Interactions with Health Care Professionals (effective July 1, 2009).
All accredited educational content is reviewed by the National Jewish Health CE Committee for fair balance, scientific and medical accuracy and rigor. The CE Committee is comprised of National Jewish Health providers in the areas of pulmonology, allergy, intensive care and pediatrics. Led by Harold Nelson, MD, the providers who serve on the CE Committee do not receive compensation for their role in order to prevent conflict of interest. In addition, National Jewish Health has developed and implemented a comprehensive and detailed conflict of interest policy to identify and resolve conflicts of interest.
Continuing Medical Education
National Jewish Health is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
In 2022, National Jewish Health received Accreditation with Commendation from the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME). Accreditation with Commendation recognizes the achievements of CME providers that advance interprofessional collaborative practice, address public health priorities, create behavioral change, show leadership, leverage educational technology, and demonstrate the impact of education on healthcare professionals and patients.
Continuing Pharmacy Education
As of February 8, 2011, National Jewish Health was approved as an accredited provider of pharmacy continuing education credits by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE).
National Jewish Health is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmacy education.
Continuing Nursing Education
National Jewish Health is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the California Board of Registered Nursing, Provider Number CEP 12724.
All CNE programs are reviewed to ensure that the content is up-to-date, fair and balanced, and meets the rigorous standards established by the California Board of Registered Nursing.
