The CME Program at National Jewish Health is managed and executed by the Office of Professional Education.
National Jewish Health is a 501(c)(3) non-profit academic medical center based in Denver, Colorado, which has achieved and maintained an international reputation for excellence in patient care and research.
The world-class faculty and staff at National Jewish Health are leaders in their field and provide exceptional professional education, fellowships and other education programs, which serve to elevate the standard of patient care and teach the next generation of healthcare professionals.
National Jewish Health has been accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians since its inception in 1984. ACCME accreditation assures physicians and other health care professionals that CME is held to high standards and is designed to be relevant, effective, and independent.
National Jewish Health has received Accreditation with Commendation from the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME). Accreditation with Commendation recognizes the achievements of CME providers that advance interprofessional collaborative practice, address public health priorities, create behavioral change, show leadership, leverage educational technology, and demonstrate the impact of education on healthcare professionals and patients.
Goals for the Office of Professional Education
Utilize established adult education theories and provide multiple formats of educational delivery to meeting the learning needs and modalities best suited to a diverse audience of physicians, physician assistants and advanced practices representing all medical disciplines.
Provide learners with the most up-to-date information on treatment modalities, advances in clinical practice and research updates based on evidence based medicine and solid needs assessment.
Partner with other organizations and institutions, under the clinical and scientific guidance of National Jewish Health’s CME Committee, to expand the reach of National Jewish Health's educational offerings nationally and internationally.
Meet or exceed the Essential Areas and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) and the Guidelines of the American Medical Association's Physicians Recognition Award (AMA/PRA).
Improve the process of demonstrating linkage between needs, learning objectives, design and learning outcomes by providing training and tutorials for Activity Directors, CME Coordinators and Faculty.
