Jessica Galant-Swafford, MD
Special Interests
Dr. Galant-Swafford cares for adults with allergic diseases and asthma, and adults and children with immune deficiency disorders. She utilizes advanced immunodiagnostic tools including genetic testing to help diagnose and treat patients with immunodeficiency diseases, including T and B cell disorders, antibody deficiencies, innate immune defects, and many others. Her clinical interest is understanding the inflammatory complications of primary immunodeficiency disorders, collaborating with experts in gastroenterology, hematology/oncology, rheumatology, pulmonary, and infectious diseases. Her research focuses on chronic lung disease in individuals with common variable immunodeficiency (CVID) including bronchiectasis and granulomatous lymphocytic interstitial lung disease (GLILD). She also cares for individuals with acquired immunodeficiencies such as those caused by immunosuppressive therapy. Through her research, she strives to better predict the complications of and personalize therapies for these conditions. Dr. Galant-Swafford is leading an interdisciplinary approach to preventing complications of and improving quality of life for individuals with immune deficiency disorders. Dr. Galant-Swafford also directs clinical immunology education for the training allergy/immunology fellows, committed to educating the next generation of clinical immunologists.
