Some Support Groups Temporarily Suspended National Jewish Health is committed to the safety of our patients, staff and the community. Due to the concerns around COVID-19, we are temporarily suspending some support groups on our campus. We plan to resume these groups as soon as possible. Some have been moved to live web conferences and a link will be posted when available. Please check with the support group organizer for further information. Thank you for your understanding. |
When you’ve been diagnosed with a serious illness, it can be helpful to talk with friends and family members. Sometimes it is beneficial to talk with people who have the same health issue. Support groups offer you time to meet and talk with other people with the same disease, to receive educational information and to learn about other resources that may help you.
Meetings are a safe and confidential place to share personal issues and learn from others’ experiences. Friends and family members are welcome to attend a support group meeting with you. Questions are encouraged — don’t be afraid to ask even the smallest question. Chances are others want to know the answer too!
If you aren’t interested in a support group, but need help coping with your condition, please talk with your doctor about counseling or other types of therapy.
