Dr. Giclas
Patsy joined National Jewish Health in 1977 as a research associate in the Department of Pediatrics, rising to the position of professor. She also developed the concept for and became the director of a comprehensive diagnostic complement laboratory, the first of its kind in the United States. This helped National Jewish Health become the center of scientific knowledge in this field. In 2014, she transitioned to the position of scientific advisor for the laboratory, consulting with researchers and physicians across the globe.
Her renowned work continues to aid physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of patients worldwide with rare and potentially life-threatening disorders of the human complement system. Her science is also utilized to test safety and efficacy of potential new medicines. We are grateful for Patsy’s remarkable commitment to medicine and to National Jewish Health.
