Board Member
Donor since 1982

Maxine Murnick has been a donor since 1982. She and her late husband, Ted, were principals of MPG Services in New Jersey, which owned and managed a portfolio of residential rental buildings. Ted, who had asthma since childhood, received care at National Jewish Health, and Maxine credits the institution with helping him maintain an excellent quality of life.

Maxine has served on the Council of National Trustees since 2001, and her children Jay, Lee, and Amy are also Trustees. Her giving to National Jewish Health has been substantial, consistently supporting urgent needs such as COVID-related appeals and, most recently, the Fund to Safeguard Critical Research. In that effort, she played a pivotal role in preserving Dr. Max Seibold’s project after funding was withdrawn by Northwestern.

She has also established a permanent endowment in Pediatric Allergy, and made significant commitments to the Never Say Never and The Road Ahead campaigns. She has also supported innovative research, including last year’s major contribution to create the Murnick Asthma Discovery Accelerator Program, which provides seed funding for promising studies.

Beyond National Jewish Health, Maxine is a highly active leader in the Jewish Federation of Greater Metrowest, where she is a former campaign chair and currently serves as president of the Jewish Community Foundation. She also recently joined the Board of the Joint Distribution Committee (JDC), which supports programs in Israel and the Jewish diaspora and provides substantial global disaster relief and development assistance.
