Exploring How Parenthood Impacts Cystic Fibrosis Patients

Search Clinical Trials

Trial Objectives

A growing number of people with cystic fibrosis (CF) are considering parenthood. CF specialists recognize that there is a need to better support first-time parents and need input from them.

In this national study called HOPeCF, study participants with cystic fibrosis who have recently become first-time parents will fill out a series of surveys over multiple years. The surveys are designed to help researchers better understand how parenthood impacts the physical and social well-being of people with CF.

Who Can Participate

Adults aged 18 and older with a CF diagnosis who have not received a lung transplant and who became a first-time parent (including foster parent, step parent, adoptive parent, or legal guardian) to a child under 5 years of age within the last 90 days.

Age: 18+ Gender: Any

Estimated Time Commitment

Five years, one in person visit for enrollment, followed by surveys that can be completed remotely. Four surveys are needed during the first year, then two surveys per year for years 2-5.
